Girl's Folk Costume Set from Minho, Portugal
Here is a lovely girl's folk costume from the Minho/Lavradeira area of Portugal. It includes blouse, vest, apron, pouch, boots, and hat - I'm not sure the hat goes with this costume, but it came with it so I include it. The set is missing only the skirt, and you could supply a red skirt of your own to supplement the outfit. Skirt and apron are of homewoven wool, hat and vest of plain wool, while the vest features traditional embroidery motifs in bright woolen colors. The blouse is cotton with very faint blue embroidered motifs on shoulder and sleeve ends, which my camera found difficult to photograph.
In very good condition - no holes or tears, and no stains except for the apron. I found several small spots on the apron (see photos) most of which really disappear into the profusion of color and won't be seen unless looked for.
Measurements:
Blouse: body width 16" across, length 29", sleeve length 17" from collar
Vest: body width 15" across, length 13" from shoulder
Apron: waist width 9", bottom width 26", length 23"
Boots: hard to measure; outside sole length 9 1/2", outside sole width 3", top to bottom 9"
Hat: circumference 20"
