VINTAGE 80'S SCHUTT OPO-DW GREEN DOT FOOTBALL HELMET FACEMASK - Gray!!!

Description

The impossible of impossible masks to find!!!  This auction is for a Schutt OPO-DW green dot football helmet facemask. When this mask was produced, it was typically only made available to top Division I schools or to NFL teams.  This is the same style of mask that Running Back Tony Collins of the New England Patriots wore in the mid 80's.
In all of my years of collecting, I have found one original of these masks.  In order to put this mask together, we had to take that mask apart.  It was a difficult decision that was
not
made quickly.  As you will see, the sacrifice was worth it.  This mask is fantastic!
This mask is a reproduction of that original mask.
The very long and painstaking process was made to make sure this mask is exact to that original.  It was then dipped in the gray, liquid (PVC) coating.  So it has the same thickness and feel that the old coatings from the 80's have.  To give you an idea of the shade of this gray, I would say of all the different shades of gray that Schutt used over the years, that this would be on the darker side of those grays.
Please notice that even the green dot is placed correctly on the mask, in the exact color that Schutt used 35 years ago.  Something you will only find here...
In going through this process, I have thought long and hard about where my pricing needs to be on these masks.  Please understand that this was
not
a cheap endeavor.  This asking price is as low as I can get it so the effort would be compensatory in some form.  I have tried to find a price that is conducive so more collectors can get their hands on this elusive mask.  I hope I have succeeded.
There is no hardware included in this auction.
Shipping is included in the price of the mask.  I will ship USPS Priority.  I try to ship out within a day or two of having received payment.
