    Description

    Women's Embroidered Bonnet from Slovakia
    This bonnet is from villages near the town of Trnava in southern Slovakia. Made of white cotton, it features yellow and purple embroidered motifs across the front and on the back panel. The front is bordered in a fine bobbin-lace edging. The dominant yellow color scheme in this area stood in for gold embroidery, which few could afford; accents in other colors were eventually added. I found no stains, but the embroidery shows wear in some places, see photos.
    Measurements: 17" across by 7" tall including the lace.
